Makiko Harris is a Japanese and American multimedia visual artist working across painting, sculpture, installation, and sound. Originally from San Francisco, CA, Makiko currently lives and works in London. She earned her MA at the Royal College of Art in Contemporary Art Practice (2023) and her BA in Philosophy and Studio Art at Tufts University in Boston, MA (2011). Her work explores themes of hybridity, ambiguous identity, cultural legacies, the precarity and performance of contemporary femininity, agency, and power.
